about

Sarana Haeata is a Maori-Australian artist who resides in Margaret River, West Australia. From her studio Sarana Haeata explores the beauty and nuances held in shared stories, collective and individual identity, with a particular focus on the female experience.

Heavily influenced by the joy and challenge of motherhood, her work across painting, digital media, ceramics and public art is often imbued with a sense of surrender and freedom.

Haeata’s work often features gestural brush strokes, textural overlaps and figurative forms that merge between representational and abstract.

Her works reside in private collections across Australia, US, Denmark, France and the UK.
